Ross E. McElroy, P.Geo, B.Sc.

Technical Team Leader

In addition to being the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Ross McElroy is Fission 3.0 Corp’s Chief Geologist. Mr. McElroy has nearly 30  years of experience in exploration, advanced project development and mining for both junior and major mining companies for a variety of commodities including uranium, gold and diamonds. Raymond Ashley, P.Geoph.

VP Exploration

Mr. Ashley has worked in the mineral exploration industry for 25 years. From 1990 to 1996, he was employed with BHP-Billiton, first in gold and base metal exploration and later in diamonds. With BHP-Billiton he was a key member of the discovery team of Ekati, Canada’s first diamond mine, and held the position of Exploration Manager Canada Diamonds. From 1996 to 2009 he was VP Exploration for Dia Met Minerals in exploration for diamonds internationally, COO of Trigon Exploration Ltd., a public company he co-founded, and VP Exploration for Diamondex Resources Ltd. Since 2009, he has been an independent consulting geoscientist and was  a member of the Fission Energy team responsible for the high grade uranium J Zone discovery at Waterbury Lake.

Antonio (Tony) Gonzales, B.Sc.(Spec)

Project Manager

Mr. Gonzales has been involved in mineral exploration for over 22 years, much of it with mining giant, BHP Billiton. He was a key member of the team that brought the EKATI Diamond Mine from advanced exploration to production. He has held roles as Senior Exploration Geologist, Technical Specialist (R&D) and Superintendent of Exploration as part of the Strategic Development group at EKATI. At Fission, as Project Manager, he was an integral member of the advanced exploration team working to develop Fission Energy’s high grade uranium J Zone in Northern Saskatchewan.

Grant Lockhart, B.Sc., B.A.Sc.

Project Manager

Grant Lockhart brings 27 years of exploration and a proven track record of discovery and project management to the Fission team, which he joined in June 2013 as program manager.  He holds a B.Sc. in Geophysics and a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia.  Mr. Lockhart began his exploration career in 1987 as a contract geophysicist exploring for precious and base metals throughout North America.  From 1992 to 2004, he was a member of BHP Billiton’s exploration team that has been credited for the discovery and development of the EKATI Diamond Mine.  Mr. Lockhart joined Indicator Minerals in 2005 as a technical consultant and was elected to the board of directors.  Since 2008, he has been an independent consultant, working in the Raglan Nickel Belt, the White Gold District, and the South Baffin Kimberlite Field. 

Sam Hartmann, B.Sc., P.Geo.

Project Manager

Sam Hartmann has been involved in mineral exploration for 5 years and is a registered professional geologist.  Mr. Hartmann joined the Fission team in 2012 at the Waterbury Lake property during development of the high grade uranium J Zone and was an integral member of the technical team of the Patterson Lake South deposit. Mr. Hartmann is also the Project Manager for the PLN project and, with his experience at both Waterbury and PLS discoveries, brings his knowledge and enthusiasm to advancing the project and prioritizing targets in the hunt for high-grade uranium deposits. Prior to joining Fission, he was employed by Imperial Metals where he worked as a project geologist on advanced stage underground base metal projects in British Columbia.

Caroline Harke: M.Sc.(Geol)

Consultant

Ms. Harke has worked with the Geological Survey of Canada where she was involved with a technical research team investigating quaternary deposits in Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia. She has over 11 years of industry experience in gold, base metals and diamond exploration programs across Canada.

Andrew Jeffrey, B.Sc.(Geol)

Consultant

Andrew Jeffrey has been a member of the Fission technical team since 2008. He has previously worked on a variety of Canadian and international uranium, diamond, gold and base-metal mineral exploration projects. Mr. Jeffrey is a graduate of Queen's University (1998).

Victor Mitchell

Consultant

Mr. Mitchell has worked in the mineral exploration industry for 25 years. From 1985 to 2001, he was employed with BHP-Billiton, first in gold and base metal exploration and later with the discovery team of Ekati. Since 2001, he has been an independent consulting geoscientist, and was a member of the Fission Energy team responsible for the high grade uranium J Zone discovery at Waterbury Lake.

David Bingham, B.Sc., P.Geo.

Consultant

Mr. Bingham is a professional geophysicist practicing since graduating from UBC in 1978. He has been a consultant since 2009, first with Living Sky Geophysics and now as an independent doing business as Bingham Geoscience. He has extensive experience exploring for various mineral types and oil deposits. Mr. Bingham was employed from 1994 to late 2009 with AREVA Resources Canada Inc., and was the lead geophysicist on many of AREVA’s projects, including the Waterbury/Cigar, Midwest and McLean Deposits. From 1975 to 1994, Mr. Bingham has worked for various contractors and companies. Mr. Bingham is registered as a P. Geo. in Saskatchewan.
